YEAR OF DESOLATION Sign With PROSTHETIC RECORDS
March 9, 2006Indianapolis' YEAR OF DESOLATION has officially been signed to Los Angeles-based Prosthetic Records. Recording for the band's Prosthetic debut will take place July 9-27 with seasoned producer Jamie King (THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME) at the Basement Studios. The self-titled record will subsequently be released through Prosthetic in early 2007.
"We're completely stoked about working with Prosthetic," stated guitarist John Hehman. "They have some great bands and we are happy to be a part of their family. We're excited as hell to put this record out on Prosthetic, because it's definitely the best YEAR OF DESOLATION stuff to date! LONG LIVE THE SHRED!!"
Originally formed in 2001 and with one full-length and one EP already under their belts, YEAR OF DESOLATION brand their sound as "melodic thrash, with absolutely zero metalcore influence," combining elements of thrash, neo classical, European progressive metal and American death metal. The band has already written a handful of songs for the upcoming album, and several rough demos are available on the band's MySpace page. In the meantime, YEAR OF DESOLATION will head out on the road with THE TONY DANZA TAPDANCE EXTRAVAGANZA, having already shared the stage with GOD FORBID, UNEARTH, SIX FEET UNDER, ION DISSONANCE, and ARSIS, among a slew of other contemporary metal acts in the past.
